I decided to share this Meditation for Clearing Mental Clutter and Calling in Clarity after I talked about it briefly in my private Blissed In Facebook community. I suddenly realized after I mentioned it that I’ve never shared it with you. So here it is!
This is the meditation I use to get quick and HONEST answers to my most pressing predicaments of the moment. Use it to connect to your inner guidance system and to help you figure out how to take the next step away from a persistent stumbling block.
Step-by-step instructions for your guided visualization meditation:
[1] Think of a question or an issue you’ve been struggling with. Make the question very specific… nothing like, “Why can’t I find happiness?” That’s far too broad. Try something like, “Why is it so hard for me to get along with Jane lately?”
[2] Picture a white board and a bucket of water.
[3] On the white board you’ll see all the chaos and worries of the moment: to-do lists, concerns, emotional and physical clutter. If you find your mind’s eye focusing on what’s written on the board, pull back and allow it to become a little blurry. Relax your mind’s eye like you would when you’re softening your actual physical gaze.
[4] Follow this visualization with your natural breathing pattern: Inhale fills the bucket with water (from any source of your choosing), exhale pours the bucket and washes the white board.
[5] Continue your inhales and exhales until the white board is completely washed clean. Take your time to do this. As you clear something from your white board, new messages may appear. This is a good thing.
[6] Your white board is becoming clearer and clearer. There’s nothing left. Or at least, there’s plenty of space for the next step.
[7] Recall the question you thought of before the meditation. Walk over to your white board, pick up a dry erase marker, and write the question nice and big. Fill up as much of the space as you can with your question. Then slowly place your marker down and step away. See the question.
[8] Sit with your question for one long inhale and exhale.
[9] Then call on the answer with these words: “Please allow the truth of this matter to be revealed to me in this moment. I’m ready for the answer.”
[10] Continue your easy inhales and exhales. If the answer isn’t revealed immediately, that’s fine. Each inhale is drawing the answer closer to you and allowing the energy of it to move through you. Each exhale releases that energy and makes space for more to be revealed.
[11] Allow this knowing to create a feeling of ease for you.
[12] When you’re ready, open your eyes and return to your space feeling more relaxed, with a sense of relief in knowing.
