At any given time, approximately 31 million Americans suffer from lower back pain (source: www.acatoday.org). They’re suffering can be the result of a variety of reasons, and one reason may surprise you.
You’ve probably heard that “sitting is the smoking” and that inactivity is making us fat, sick, and less healthy that the generations before us. But what you may not know is that prolonged sitting can also cause lower back pain. Sitting too long without intermittent periods of activity can lead to tightness in your hips and thighs which wreaks havoc on your back.
If you’re someone who sits a lot for school or work, you could benefit from the hip-opening, thigh-stretching, and strength-building yoga poses that I’m offering in today’s video. I’m also wearing the Beactive calf band that I’ve been using to ease lower back pain from sitting and nursing Baby Annabel for extended periods of time. It’s made a huge difference in how I feel and move throughout my day!
Now that you’ve tried the moves, let me know what you think!
Stay blissed in! xx
