Hello my perfectly wonderful friends!
Yes – perfect. I think we’re all born perfect, but just because we’re born to be amazing doesn’t mean that we do everything perfectly – even when we try really really hard to get good at it.
I’ve learned this with my yoga practice – both as a student and a teacher. Some people will never get into a split, and that’s ok. It’s usually more ok for the teacher than the student, but that’s all part of the practice… learning that it isn’t about perfection in the pose, just perfect attention to and appreciation for the moment.
I’ve learned that whether I’m going to be the next Christina Aguilera or not doesn’t matter. I should still feel that I’m worthy of getting up on a stage and singing my heart out. — There will be LOTS more about this soon, including a video where I get hypnotized by Grace Smith to feel good about my singing AND I’m taking you with me to Willie Mae’s Rock Camp for Women in NYC. (I know. I’m freaking out.)
There’s also my complete lack of skill or knowledge when it comes to style. I own almost no grown-up lady clothes, and I’m positive this has all kinds of meaning built up behind it (to explore later). I’m so grateful for my kickass friend and business partner Danny J for hooking me up with a gift certificate to Stitch Fix for my 35th birthday. If you think getting fabulous outfits styled just for you sent to your mailbox every month sounds good, you MUST click here and check out the service. It’s my absolute new favorite thing that I’m totally obsessed with.
So I just want to know from you – what are you TERRIBLE at and completely ok with. Are you trying to improve it or do you just shrug your shoulders and say, “I am who I am and that’s perfectly cool”?
Tell me ALL about it the comments below. I can’t wait to read what you have to say!
Stay blissed in! xx
