After my Strong & Slim by Summer yoga series, I got a lot of requests for tutorial videos about specific yoga poses. I happen to know an incredible yoga instructor who I’ve been dying to work with, so I gave her a call just for you.
Danielle Diamond is the founder and creator of the Xen Strength – Yoga With Weights system and the star of of the popular Xen Strength DVD. She combines weight training with yoga asana and offers an incredibly fun and unique way to get fit and STRONG while maintaining a mind-body practice.
I visited Danielle in her beautiful Jersey Shore summer home, and we made a total of five yoga tutorial videos that will instruct you on proper alignment for downward facing dog – adho mukha svanasana, staff pose – chaturanga dandasana, crow pose – bakasana, forward fold – paschimottanasana, and tree pose – vrksasana (you’ll find the first video and links to the entire playlist below).
We also shot a “yoga diet” video along with a Xen Strength workout sequence for StyleMeFit – that’s coming soon!
Danielle is so crazy cool, and I loved her style so much, that I decided yesterday that I’m taking her Xen Strength teacher certification. If you’re a yoga teacher or fitness instructor who wants to offer something totally different to your students, you should definitely check it out. It’s a complete (and affordable) online certification in her Yoga With Weights method.
