I’m having so much fun hanging with my homegirl, Danny J of the Sweaty Betties, in NYC this week. We’ve been eating and shopping and having meetings with amazing people.
We took Brett Hoebel‘s Flywheel class in the Flatiron District yesterday morning, and then we shot an incredibly informative tutorial about preventing and treating diastasis recti (mommy belly)! I’m ridiculously excited about this.
Danny and I are also attending an all-day marketing seminar & workshop with the insanely successful Derek Halpern today… we’re always working on our business and trying to take it to the next level.
We’ve been working our asses off on Social Academy, our coaching program for bloggers and YouTubers who want to turn their passion into their full-time careers. The decision to to dedicate so much of our time to a brand new project was a risky one, but we decided that it was ultimately best to jump in and do it.
Which leads me to an awesome little quote I heard yesterday that inspired the Bliss Note above.
Right before our #nextlevelNYC meetup in Madison Square Park, Danny and I met with the amazing Kelly Dooley, founder of BodyRock Sport, the premiere active-wear line that is blowing up the world of fitness fashion.
You may remember that I wore one of her sports bras in my Hater 8 workout, and she designed one of my favorite pair of capris that I featured in one of my Slim by Summer Yoga videos.
We talked a lot about business and what it takes to be successful —
Equal parts arrogance, delusion, creativity, hard work, fearlessness…
Fearlessness?
But we all have fears, don’t we? I guess my secret of success is that I don’t act on them. Even when I’m cringing inside during a negotiation or I’m dreading looking weak at the gym, I just do it anyway…
Kelly offered, “You have to fall in love with fear.” Brilliant. Get used to feeling fear. Recognize it as something that has no power over you. Embrace fear as a driving force. Harness your fear – turn it into the ultimate tool for immeasurable and boundless success.
So yeah, we all have fear that we deal with… not being good enough, smart enough, brave enough, or just having enough. How are you using your fear to propel you forward?
This Bliss Note is also extra special because it was co-created by my partner in fitness amazingness, Danny J, so it’s infused with extra epic courage. Please share it with someone you think needs to hear it and pin it to remind yourself and others that there’s no need to be afraid of a little fear.
Stay blissed in! xx
