That’s right. You got it, folks. Mike Perrine is back in my kitchen for some hot Yummy Monday action. Actually, it’s more like raw Yummy Monday action, because – you know – he’s a raw foodie. It’s way past my bedtime when I’m writing this, and I’m well beyond the point of thinking of clever things to write. Please bear with me through the rest of this post.
Before we get to the recipe, let’s start this week off with a gratitude exercise. At this moment, I am grateful for my wonderful followers (love you guys!!), all the amazing things I learned at Bloggy Bootcamp in Philadelphia this weekend and the incredibly USEFUL stuff I got in my swag bag.
Hello, Philadelphia. I’ve missed you.
It hardly ever happens that I love everything in my bag. Not only did we all get a brand new Waterpik shower head which I totally needed to buy this week because the shower head in my new house’s master bathroom is GRODY-AS-HECK, but we got yummy treats from King’s Hawaiian and Happy Baby that I quickly nom-nom-nom’ed all the way home.
First, I ate 5 King’s Hawaiian rolls while waiting in traffic. Don’t judge me!
Then, I ate half of the Happy Baby treats.
Summer got the rest, but she wasn’t happy about sharing.
I feel a responsibility to you all to say here that King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls are not part of my regular diet (I’ve actually never had them), but they are ridiculously tasty (and I hardly ever refuse free food). Let’s work on recipes for a cleaner, kinder alternative, shall we? (Because I need lots of sweet rolls in my future.)
Ok, back to healthy eating detox talk.
The totally annoying hints about the incredibly exciting project that Mike and I are working on will end here probably continue until you want to ring my neck, but at least you’ll be getting some yummy recipes to go with them. And I almost forgot the BIGGEST thing I’m grateful for this week – the fact that someone ELSE shot and edited the next four weeks of Yummy Monday videos!! Big ups to Rachele a.k.a. Doc Rocket for hooking me up with her amazing skills for these videos. When she’s not slumming it with me in my kitchen, she makes award winning short films and music videos with Mike Rizzo like this: Paul and the Tall Trees – The Little Bit Of Sunshine.
This week’s video is pretty straight forward. It’s a super-tasty green smoothie that even a Bex can make. However, I did refuse to make a fool of myself by attempting to cut mangos in front of people. Neither mangled mangos or bloody fingers make for pretty viewing.

Here are the general guidelines for any tasty green smoothie (video ingredients in parentheses):
– 2-3 cups of fruit (mango & banana)
– 2 big handfuls of greens; lettuce, spinach and kale are excellent. (spinach)
– enough water, juice or coconut water to blend (coconut water)
– sea salt to taste
As promised, here’s your exclusive BONUS video! Please feel free to share this with your friends and remember to leave any questions you may have for Mike or me in the comments below. I live for your questions and feedback. They’re like warm fuzzy hugs on a chilly night.

Have you been working on your inspiration boards? I’ve collected about a bagillion quotes and pics since I started mine on Friday. Most of the quotes came from Bloggy Bootcamp speakers, and most of the pics relate to future business plans and Bex Life goals. I’m literally busting at the seams with ideas… literally. My head is exploding. Here are some goodies for you. See you on Wednesday with your new workout!! xo
