During one of my latest pregnancy freakout episodes, I decided that Justin needs to read more books about being a dad. My husband, being the amazing man that he is, rushed me to Barnes & Noble to pick up whatever books that would calm me down and make me feel secure. We picked up a copy of What To Expect the First Year and the Caveman’s Guide to Baby’s First Year: Early Fatherhood for the Modern Hunter-Gatherer. Genius.
Just as we were leaving the baby how-to section, I noticed a new edition of What To Expect When You’re Expecting. I was excited to see that the cover model got an upgrade from the mumu-clad depressed looking mom sitting in the rocking chair on the cover of my 13-year-old edition. I made a remark about how cute she is and then quickly realized that I was wearing the exact same outfit. Yes, to my horror, I actually look like a mom now. It’s been verified in print.
