Little frustrates me more about the health & fitness world than those misleading ads for the newest diet pill, workout system, or miracle supplement that promises that if you use it you’ll look just like the model on the packaging. At best, it’s misleading. At worst, it’s a complete lie.
The truth is that the fitness models and bodybuilders used in those ads have literally made it their jobs to sculpt the “perfect” muscular physique. I’m not saying that it’s an unattainable goal to look like them, but it is much more work than most people could ever imagine.
Stick to your nutrition.” -Jeff Willet
I’ve always said that bodybuilding is more about looks than health. The men and women who compete in fitness and bodybuilding competitions put their bodies and minds through what some might consider torture to look the way they do… often risking injury and internal health.
I Want To Look Like That Guy is the true story of an independent filmmaker and “Average Joe”, Stuart MacDonald, who takes on the seemingly impossible task of transforming himself into a competitive bodybuilder. His trainer is Jeff Willet, IFBB (International Federation of Body Building and Fitness) Pro.
This movie is so great for so many reasons. It serves as a caution to consumers of diet products, it shows people that the only real way to achieve your fitness goals is through hard work and SWEAT, and it’s an inspiration to every “Average Joe” who thinks they can’t transform their bodies into something really incredible. I’m suddenly inspired to possibly train for a fitness competition… something that I thought was beyond my reach as a busy mom of three.
Watch this movie. Here’s the official trailer:
