No matter how well we eat, how much exercise we get, or how many times I diligently disinfect the doorknobs, there was no avoiding the tsunami of sick that washed over my kids’ schools this season. We managed to stay well through the holidays and the first wave of the flu, and then BAM, the sick ick pummeled us like rag-dolls this week. I was down for the count all weekend and vlogged all about it.
Calvin was only out of commission for a day, and Winona, Justin, and I are all still suffering with a laundry list of symptoms. Jack is the only one who hasn’t even had a hint of a sniffle… he’s probably the host.
So here we are as a family, drowning in a sea of dirty tissues, cold medicine, and cough drops. Besides all the mucus-filled quality time we’ve been spending together, there were other sunny moments. We discovered Edy’s All-Fruit Bars!! Yummy, cold, hydrating, and only 80 calories! The strawberry bars are my favorite and have big chunks of strawberries frozen inside. The kids prefer the lemonade bars. I think we’ve gone through no less than 7 boxes over the past 4 days, and we can’t stop eating them. Something tells me a new blender and ice-pop mold are in our near future *wink*.
