Last week took Justin to LA for three days to shoot Them Crooked Vultures for the Guitar World cover. This is the second time Justin has shot the “supergroup” made up of members, David Grohl {Nirvana, Foo Fighters}, Joshua Homme {Queens of the Stone Age}, and John Paul Jones {Led Zeppelin}.
Before he could take off on the Monday morning 6:30AM flight from Newark to LAX, he swung by Madison Square Garden Sunday night to shoot Volbeat and Metallica live.
So it was shooting in NYC, home for a two-hour catnap, and then in the car at 4AM heading for Newark.
In N Out Burger was a mandatory stop to fuel up for the next two days of shooting… live show, soundcheck, cover shoot, live show.
Shooting on location adds a layer of stress to a job because everything has to be handled from so far away – and three time zones east. But somehow, through the chaos, everything seems to turn out well in the end.
