For Xmas this year, a lot of my family members exchanged gifts related to the wedding weekend… my older sister gave my mother the skirt she wanted to wear at the wedding, I got my brother-in-law and dad new clothes to wear for the weekend, my family gave the kids some snow gear, and my mom gave me a card with this antique hanky to attach to my bouquet bag.
The message in the card:
Something old, Something blue
Pansies represent “thought”
and my thoughts and love will be with you
as you begin a new and wonderful life
with Justin.
I am officially finished with the list. Something Old {my antique hankie and a portrait charm I made from old watch parts and a photo of Justin & me}. Something New {I’m naming my “B” monogram bracelet as my Something New, because it represents my new name!!}. Something borrowed {my grandmother’s fur stole}. Something Blue {also covered by my antique hankie}. I also picked up a “lucky sixpence for her shoe” from David’s Bridal when I picked up Winona’s shoes. I paid too much, but I’m pretty ridiculous about superstitions {and even more ridiculous about checking things off my list without delay}. Tip: order your sixpence online for about $6. Don’t pay double like I did for convenience. I could really use that extra $6 about now…
