I really liked this last minute project that I made to attach to my wedding gown.
Justin and I love crafting together, and we usually just use found items from around the house for our projects. Between the two of us, we have a pretty extensive collection of seashells from beaches from our travels, beads, old watch & jewelry parts, and pieces of broken toys. We were working on our cigar box dioramas {inspired by Dios De Los Muertos shadow boxes}…
…and I started tinkering around with some old watch parts. I put together a little 3-D photo charm using an empty watch case, a photo of Justin & me, and some tiny beads. I’m going to sew it to the jeweled waistband of my gown.
Here’s my finished project {a little old and beat up, but I love it}. I found some tiny heart and star charms that I threw in there, too:
I’m sure if I had searched for better parts or taken more time, it would have turned out “nicer”, but I love spur of the moment sparks of inspiration. We had so much fun hanging out together that night, and this little charm is a reminder of how much fun we have with just each other in our quiet times… making messes with glue and junk drawer treasures.
