We took a trip out to the Woodloch Pines Resort on Tuesday {Sep 9} to see the grounds and book our date.
It was beautiful!! The Inn, where the ceremony and reception are going to take place, overlooks a huge lake which will hopefully be frozen for ice-skating at the time of the wedding.
And there’s so much to do… two indoor pools, a water park for the little kids, ice-skating, snow-tubing, kids’ activities, movies, a shooting range, and a world-class spa-just to name a few of the fun things to do during the weekend.
The townhomes are huge with their own washer & dryer and kitchens and border a world-class golf course.
Here are some pics that we took of the resort:
on the way there
the cocktail hour room [it will be set up differently for us]
the deck overlooking the lake off the cocktail hour room
rebekah and justin in front of the inn
rebekah in front of the inn [very excited!]
NOT a real deer
view of the lake from the deck
the lake from the pier
little sailboats
one of the two indoor pools
outdoor kiddie pool. very weird.
We also found some time to do a little smurf hunting!! This place must be good luck, because this was the first time we successfully captured and exterminated a smurf. Until now, they’ve always managed to escape our grasp. It was probably because he was too busy drinking to notice us creeping up on him. Here’s what we got:
rebekah in front of the smurf field
he’s obviously oblivious… or drunk
stalking her prey
the only good smurf is a dead smurf
We’re planning a another trip to the resort before the wedding weekend to finalize all the details, so we’ll bring better smurf hunting gear with us then.
Here’s some video of one “just getting away” in the Pine Barrens earlier this year:
