I am caught in the biggest fitness rut EVER and my head is about to explode. I’m having mood swings, I’m craving all the wrong foods for my body and I’m getting SO BORED.

I’ve talked a lot on this blog and in my videos about how my fitness journey started, and it mostly has to do with a time in my life when I was suffering from a lot of anxiety. It is absolutely essential to my general well-being (and the sanity of those around me) for me to stay active every single day. Fitness and clean eating is my only medicine, and the truth is that I’ve been doing too little of both. Between moving into the new house without any relief in my work schedule and Trainer Daryl leaving me to open up his own training facility, United Strength Academy, I’m completely lost and floundering for fitness motivation (congrats to Daryl… grrrrr). Yes, it’s true, I hate to work out by myself and I pay a trainer to come to my house and yell at me until I sweat… or cry… whichever happens first. (Check out our Hater 8 workout… it’s one of my favorites!)
ahhhh, memories of my life with Trainer Daryl…
Now I’m finding myself in a fitness rut, bored of the same old routines, and I need to try something new. Ruts of all kinds suck, and it’s so important to recognize when you’re in one and quickly get yourself out. In yoga, we talk a lot about getting caught in circles/grooves/ruts of suffering, and our practice can be a way to break away from it. I’d love to hear about how you break out of your own misery-grooves. It’s so funny how people say that “getting into a groove” is good, and I think of it as completely boring. I want to be jumping all over the place… trying new things, being challenged, exploring the unknown!
sometimes just getting outside for some “farm” work breaks the rut
So I’m breaking out the DVDs (thank you, Anchor Bay Entertainment) in hopes that my BFFF (Best Fitness Friend Forever) Jackie Warner can save my sorry little butt from my fitness blues. I promise that after today, my Jackie Warner love-fest will be over. I’ve been talking about her all week, and I’m just about done squee’ing at the top of my lungs over my workout and interview with her last Saturday. By the way, if you haven’t done my Jackie-inspired workout video yet, you better get on it!!
That heart was NOT photoshopped into this picture of our interview.
Our love is totally real.
If you’re wondering why I would promote another fitness professional’s DVDs or books, I have very good reasons. I admire and respect Jackie like crazy. She has inspired me so much over the years, and I feel like I owe her at least a little shout out. Besides Jackie, there have been a whole bunch of people who have inspired and helped me tons along the way, including Cassey Ho, Sarah Dussault, Tara Stiles, Sadie Nardini, Trainer Daryl, Bianca Jade and so many more. There’s room at the top of Success Mountain for all of us, and when I find someone or something that’s awesome, I have to share the love. I wouldn’t be where I am without more successful people showing me love and giving me opportunities.

At age 30, she got her fitness certification and has since dedicated her life to transforming the health of others through fitness and nutrition. She was the first in the fitness industry to offer medical treatments within her multi-discipline wellness center in Beverly Hills called Lift. She also pioneered the concept of incorporating exercise therapy into traditional medical insurance plans. In 2002, she founded Sky Sport & Spa, a sports medicine and fitness club in Beverly Hills. Jackie authored the NY Times Bestseller “This Is Why You’re Fat (And How to Get Thin Forever),” has starred in two television series, and now offers online training at JackieWarner.com.
